How the security works
Entries are encrypted with AES-256 before storage. There is no account, no server and no recovery email. If you forget your master password, the entries are unrecoverable — by design. Choose a password you will remember, and back up.
Common questions
Can I export my journal?
Yes, via your encrypted backup. The journal travels with your vault backup, not as plain text.
What if I forget my password?
Entries cannot be recovered. This is the trade-off for true privacy — write the password down somewhere physically secure.
